Updated Ban Appeal Policy

Hello everyone, It\'s been noted that the majority of ban appeals we receive are frivolous (1 out of 25 are legitimate ban appeals on average), therefore the following policy is now in place effective immediately: If you are appealing a temporary ban you know for a fact you deserve, yet you\'re going to test our intelligence and see if you can get off scott-free anyway, your temporary ban will changed to a permanent ban. All GMs are required to document each and every ban they do (with proof of why, usually screenshot/video), therefore when an appeal is received by our ticket center, they can refer to that GM\'s documentation and make a decision without really needing the GM\'s side of the story. 99% of the time, the documentation recorded is enough proof that the account is to stay banned. This isn\'t to confuse a misunderstanding of the game rules with blatant common sense. For example: - User1 decides to spam-insult user2, using a very colorful vocabulary. - User1 gets banned by a hidden GM that is disguised as a normal user sitting in the same channel. The GM then documents the ban via screenshot proof in the GM-restricted area. - User1 files a ban appeal, hoping he can trick the GM team, explaining that he was banned unfairly and that he never insulted the user, yet the documentation says otherwise and it\'s blatantly obvious that User1\'s ban is justified. - User1\'s ban appeal is denied, and his ban is changed to a permanent ban. Moral of the thread: If you know you abused yet you try to appeal the ban anyways, you\'re going to be banned forever instead. Thanks, Diabllo --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ola pessoal, Tem sido notado que a maioria dos pedidos de revisao de ban que recebemos sao inconsistentes (em media, 1 em cada 25 pedidos sao legitimos), e portanto a seguinte politica entre em vigor imediatamente: Se voce esta pedindo revisao de um ban temporario que voce sabe que foi merecido, e ainda assim voce tenta testar nossa inteligencia para ver se consegue escapar da punicao, seu ban temporario sera estendido para um ban permanente. Todos os GMs sao requisitados de documentar todo e qualquer ban que facam (com provas, usualmente screenshots ou videos), e portanto quando um pedido de revisao e recebido em nossa central de tickets, o GM que for resolver o ticket pode tomar uma decisao sem necessariamente precisar entrar em contato com o GM autor do ban. 99% das vezes, a documentacao existente e prova suficiente que a conta deve permanecer banida. Isso e para que nao se confunda um mal-entendido das regras do jogo com falta de bom senso. Por exemplo: - O Usuario1 decide fazer spam ou insultar o Usuario2, utilizando um vocabulario de baixo calao. - O Usuario1 e banido por um GM oculto que estava disfarcado de jogador regular no mesmo canal. Entao o GM documenta o ban por meio de uma screenshot na area restrita aos GMs. - O Usuario1 envia um pedido de revisao de ban, esperando que possa enganar o GM que ler o ticket, afirmando ter sido injustamente banido e que nunca insultou o referido usuario. Mas ha provas do ocorrido e portanto o ban do Usuario1 e obviamente justo. - O Usuario1 tem seu pedido de revisao de ban negado, e o ban ja existente e estendido a um ban permanente. Moral do topico: Se voce sabe que voce abusou das regras e ainda assim tenta pedir revisao do seu ban, voce tera sua conta permanentemente banida. Atenciosamente, Sparks

GMs are definitely held more accountable towards the game rules than the users, as the GMs are role models for everyone in the server. Most of the time, anyone who isn\'t on staff anymore was fired, it seems.

Sorry to contradict you sir, but back when the \"kick bug abuse\" was a 15 day ban, I was banned for that when I rejoined a room once (if my memory serves me right). When I logged a ticket to complain, the Gm said I rejoined it 3 times, which is lying and obviously lacks proof. My appeal didn\'t work.

Sorry to contradict you sir, but back when the \"kick bug abuse\" was a 15 day ban, I was banned for that when I rejoined a room once (if my memory serves me right). When I logged a ticket to complain, the Gm said I rejoined it 3 times, which is lying and obviously lacks proof. My appeal didn\'t work.
We have a private GM forum where EVERY staff member post their proofs with screenshots/videos/ticket tracking ID, but those can\'t be shown due to our privacy policy. The nickname of the player who make the report must stay in secret.

Todos los GM son requeridos para documentar todos y cada uno de los baneos que hacen (con prueba de ello, por lo general captura de pantalla / video), por lo tanto, cuando una apelacion es recibida por nuestro centro de tickets, Ellos pueden consultar la documentacion de los GM y tomar una decision sin realmente necesitar al GM que atendio su historial. 99% de las veces, la documentacion registrada es suficiente prueba de que la cuenta estea baneada. Esto es para no confundir una mala interpretacion de las reglas del juego, con el sentido comun evidente. Por ejemplo: - Usuario1 decide insultar o realizar comentarios no deseados al usuario2, utilizando un vocabulario muy colorido. - Usuario1 fue baneado por un GM oculto que se disfraza como un usuario normal ubicado en el mismo canal. El GM entonces documenta el baneo usando como prueba la captura de pantalla(foto del juego) en el area restringida de los GM. - Usuario1 presenta una apelacion del baneo, con la esperanza de que pueda burlar al equipo de los GM, y explico que se le prohibio de manera injusta y que el nunca insulto a los usuarios, sin embargo, la documentacion dice lo contrario y es claramente evidente que el baneo del Usuario1 esta justificado. - La apelacion de baneo del Usuario1 es negada y su baneo se cambia a uno permanente. Y la Moraleja es: \"Si usted SABE que ABUSA y a pesar de todo INTENTA APELAR su baneo, en lugar de ello sera BANEADO PARA SIEMPRE\" Gracias, Diabllo [i]Interesting :) ..Nice policy :D! ..Nice work :)[/i] [/color]

You people don\'t get it. THIS IS NOT ABOUT THE GMs. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD TO PROVIDE PROOF OF BANS. This is basically saying if you try to waste our time or trick us with ban appeals, we will permanently ban you.

Are there also reverse punishments ie. unreasonable bans/not enough proof/ or some personal grudges. All I\'m saying is that there should be punishment for unjust bans.

I have the phrase \"If you are going to do the crime, then do the time\" in my head right now. This all sounds like a bunch of babies crying cause they did wrong and are now being punished. Get over it and don\'t cheat! Then you won\'t have to worry about being banned and appealing it. I feel for the whole GBTH staff with all the work they have to do keeping things fair for ALL. It must make actually playing the game rather difficult always being on the look out for those doing wrong things. GREAT WORK GBTH STAFF! Keep it up!
